1) How do sheet masks work?

The key product in the sheet mask is the serum. The sheet in the sheet masks prevent evaporation of the serum and helps in absorption. Serums provides moisture , vitamins and various other nutrients resulting in a hydrating healthy skin.

2)Should it be allowed to dry ?

No it is recommended that a sheet Mark is used for 15-20 minutes only.It should be removed when the serum is still present on the sheet. One can gently pat the serum into the skin if there is any serum left.

3) How often should it be used ?

It is safe to use the sheet mask once in a week especially those with active ingredients like retinol, glycolic acid charcoal etc .However hydrating sheet masks containing aloe ,glycerin, ceramides, hyaluronic acid can be used 2-3 times a week as per patients need.

4) Are sheet masks helpful in cleansing or exfoliating?

No .A sheet mask cannot cleans or exfoliate. So one should be using a basic skin care routine under the guidance of a dermatologist along with sheet masks.

5) As a homecare is there any preferable time to use sheet mask ?

No ,one can use the sheet mask whenever one gets time.

6)Should the face be washed immediately after applying a sheet mask?

No it is better not to wash the face immediately as it will wash off the precious serums and thus its ingredients and the resultant moisture.

7) Is there any need to apply anything after a sheet mark?

Application of a moisturizer after using a sheet mask will help to lock the moisture and nutrients absorbed from the serum in the skin cells.

8) Can sheet marks be used for men too ?

Yes of course! For men too the sheet mask should be selected according to skin type and skin concern .

9) For whom the charcoal mark is useful ?

Charcoal masks are useful for those having oily skin although its frequent use by those having dry skin will make their skin more dry and dehydrated.

10) Are the sheet masks better than other face masks?

The results of both are comparable. But nowadays, most prefer sheet masks as they are less messy and one doesn’t require brushes mixing bowls etc. like in traditional facemasks. Also sheet masks give a hydrating feel than most of the face masks which makes the skin feel dry post application
